What is Wellness?

Wellness is the condition of being in optimum health. It is a way of life oriented toward optimal health and well-being in which all levels of consciousness are integrated in a purposeful manner with a goal of living life more fully. It is a holistic blend of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental well-being; the result of consciously choosing to live in harmony with every aspect of existence perceived through the self. The path of natural health and wellness is a life-long journey that requires personal responsibility and commitment.

What is the Meaning of Holistic Health?

The principles of Holistic Health state that health is more than just not being sick. A common explanation is to view wellness as a continuum which represents all possible degrees of health. One end represents premature death. On the other end is the highest possible level of wellness or maximum well-being. The center point represents a lack of apparent disease. This places all levels of illness on one side of the wellness continuum and other half shows that even when no illness seems to be present, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Holistic approach to wellness goes beyond just eliminating symptoms. A symptom is considered a message that something needs attention; therefore the symptom is used as a guide to look below the surface for the root cause. Then what really needs attention can be addressed.
